web development & design by
Jenn Schiffer
Who I am
I am the lead web developer of Baristanet, MyVeronaNJ and a selection of other hyperlocal blogs in the NJ/NY area. I also teach a computer course at Montclair State University. As if those jobs do not keep me busy enough, I also do freelance web design and development, along with work at indie shops Montclair Book Center and Blackbird Lane.
What I do
Web Development
Already have an in-house design team, but you need a web developer to turn their design into a reality? Code is my passion, and I always consider SEO, cross-browser compatibility and usability to be an important part of the project.
I use a variety of web tools and languages – (not limited to) HTML, CSS, Javascript, MySQL, PHP and Java. WordPress is my specialty, but I also have worked extensively with Movable Type Pro, Typepad, Tumblr, MailChimp, Yahoo Stores, and Zen Cart. I can set up, design and develop your site and newsletters with these tools and more.
Contractual & Collaborative Work
Most companies are busy with their own clients, or do not have a web developer on staff to complete various projects. If you are one of them and are looking for an able and qualified freelancer to do contract work (development and/or maintenance), let me know. I’ve done contract jobs with many different companies, and collaborated with just as many different designers.
I am always looking for other designers and programmers to collaborate on projects and network. Want to be friends/colleagues? You now know how to contact me!
Where you are
This website is a showcase of the work I’ve done and continue to do. You can see some of the stuff I’ve done in my portfolio, read my daily musings and tech blurbs in my Tumblr blog and toss me an email if you’re looking to get in touch.
Stay cool.
